This is a collection of links to great tools that you need to have in your SEO Tool Chest (most tools are free). This is another one of my continual "Works in Progress". Please contact me if you have a tool that belongs in my SEO Tool Chest.
SeoElite * - is probably the single best link analysis tool in my tool chest. It will provide you with almost everything you want to know about links to a site. Locate potential linking partners with a click of a button. Also runs ranking reports. (not free)
Link Popularity Check - is one of MarketLeap's collection of great free tools. Remember that the MSN IBL numbers are overstated just as they are on MSN until you click past page the first 1 or 2 pages of links. See my Link Popularity Check blog post for more details.
Link Harvester - is an incredibly powerful free tool that will let you see where all the links come from in convenient groups and show common Class C IP Address blocks. Link Harvester also links to the Internet Archives, WhoIs Source, and Google cache near each link to provide you with even more details. You can export your data in a CSV file and import it into Excel for additional analysis. See my Link Harvester blog post for more details.
Hub Finder - looks for co-occurring backlinks, which may be authoritative links that help satisfy topic dependant link authority algorithms. See my blog posts Hub Finder 3.0 Update - SEO Tool Chest and SEO Tool Chest - Link Tools 3 .
Backlink Anchor Text Analysis - is a free tool that takes Yahoo! backlink results and displays the anchor text for each linked site. See my Backlink Anchor Text Analysis blog post for more details.
Free WebPosition 4 Trial * - WebPosition is a great suite of SEO tools. Great ranking reports with good charting to see trends. Their PageCritic gives you a comprehensive analysis of your web page and compares against industry standards and/or your competition. There is many other great features including a lite version of WordTracker. Check it out for 30 days and I'm sure you will like it as much as I do!
Keyword Density & Prominence Analyzer - is one of my favorite free tools for looking at keyword density and other important on page factors. There is also a subscription based version of this tool which gives you added functionality and better access (my opinion). See my Keyword Density & Prominence Tool blog post for more information.
Poodle Predictor - is a great free search engine simulator and analysis tool based on Google. This tool gives you a quick, but in-depth view of a page the way a search engine spider does. See my Poodle Predictor blog review for more information.
WebCEO * - I found this to be an excellent tool for search engine optimization. What I love about this program, it gives me everything I need to run and promote my site in one package. It's the Swiss Army Knife of SEO tools. Give it a try before you buy with their Free Edition that you can download from their Web site.
Wordtracker * - is the Granddaddy of all the keyword research tools. It provides many different ways to research keywords and estimated search volume. Be sure to get John Alexander's e-Book "Wordtracker Magic" * to fully understand where the real "magic" can be found in Wordtracker.
Nichebot - a great free tool that helps you research and select keywords. This tool taps into WordTracker, Google and Yahoo! Search Marketing (formerly Overture - YSM) data to present you with suggestions and data to assist you in finding those great niche keywords.
TheDowser * - a super flexible keyword research tool that gathers data from WordTracker, Google, YSM and many other sources. They offer a basic version free and a feature packed Professional version upgrade. Make sure you watch their video tutorials to get the most from this amazing product. Web-Sniffer - is my current favorite http header checker. It gives you a lot of useful information.
Server Header Checker - was my old favorite (it's fast, dependable and easy to read the results), but doesn't give you as much info as Web-Sniffer.

DNSstuff.com - is a great collection of DNS and domain name related tools.
The DNS Report shows you how your hosts DNS setup is performing and flags potential problems (not some of their warning messages are common among hosts).
